Nine state representatives and senators and three Assembly members sent letters to US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg requesting that AKDOT allocate funding to address: “Dear Secretary Buttigieg, We are writing to you as members of the Anchorage Assembly and members of our MPO's Policy Committee… we are asking for your department’s assistance to ensure time-sensitive safety improvements are programmed for the State of Alaska. We ask that FHWA partially approve the STIP until the flaws addressed in this letter are corrected….”
